August 3rd 2025

Starting off the first weekly update of the month with a lesson in mental awareness. SmugAlana brings us an obvious drama related video, but it’s not my intent to focus on the subject at all but rather the lesson hopefully learned. That lesson is trusting anyone with very identifiable information, especially if it’s a government ID, can be dangerous. I bring this up because a content creator I follow made a big deal about how buying from merchants (local or overseas) who require you upload your government ID to them is “fine”. It is obviously not, for a lot of reasons. This is especially true due to recent events. More nuance in the audio blog.

Nostalgia has introduced a lot of questionable stuff in recent years. Even if we give them the benefit of the doubt, we then have to live by the quote “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”. LGR is absolutely not the idiot in all of this, to make things clear (he’s awesome!). The thing he is talking about, I leave up to you to decide. Hopefully it’s a quick decision.

Somewhere along the way, I got off the train of reliving my youth. I think that’s because every single opportunist out there sees me as easy prey when it comes to nostalgia. Retro Game Corps does another fantastic review video of a newly released Anbernic handheld which I all recommend you look at. I can’t help but feel these devices at the end of the day are starting to cater to a different crowd however. Lots more commentary in the audio blog.

Artist is Dishwasher1910

This was a spicy weekly update, so I’ll re-link an equally spicy artist Dishwasher1910 for good measure. He’s been around the block for along time, and a previous recommendation in the past as well. Also very vocal about trends in art, so I felt it was thematic for this weekly! Send a nice word on any of his socials as always, and he has a lot of it.
